How to Use the Stock P&L to ITR-3 Analyzer
Convert your original broker Stock P&L report into an ITR-3 working summary. Select your broker, upload the original Excel report, check reconciliation and review the STCG, LTCG, business/intraday and month-wise figures before filing.
Use the Analyzer in 4 Simple Steps
The workflow is designed to keep broker data, calculations and filing values easy to review.
Select Your Broker
Choose the broker whose original P&L report you downloaded. Each broker uses its own report format and parser.
Download Original P&L
Download the broker's original XLSX/XLS P&L or consolidated report. Do not manually edit the broker file before uploading.
Upload the Excel File
Click the broker upload button and select the downloaded report. The analyzer reads the report and prepares the ITR-3 working data.
Review Before Filing
Check reconciliation, STCG, LTCG, business/intraday, charges, month-wise data and transaction details before using the figures for ITR-3.
Choose the Correct Broker
The Stock P&L to ITR-3 page currently provides broker-specific sections. Use the matching section for the file you downloaded.

BROKER FORMATWhat File Should You Upload?
Always start with the original report downloaded directly from your broker account.
✓ Correct File
Use the report supplied by the broker for the required period.
- 1 XLSX or XLS broker report
- 2 Original downloaded file
- 3 Required financial/reporting period
- 4 Complete report including relevant sections
! Avoid These Files
Do not upload a manually reconstructed Excel when the broker original is available.
- × Manually typed P&L Excel
- × Screenshot converted to Excel
- × Edited/filtered broker workbook
- × A report from another broker's section
What Happens After Upload?
The analyzer reads the broker-specific report and prepares the available data for review.
Report Reconciliation
Broker-reported totals are compared with parsed transaction-level totals. A mismatch should be treated as a review/error condition rather than silently accepted.
SOURCE CHECKSTCG
Review Full Value of Consideration, Cost of Acquisition, P&L and transaction count for short-term capital-gain transactions.
SCHEDULE CGLTCG
Review sale consideration, acquisition cost, gain/loss and transaction count for long-term capital-gain transactions.
SCHEDULE CGIntraday / Speculative
Where the broker report provides intraday equity data, review turnover, purchase value and profit/loss separately from capital gains.
BUSINESS DATAF&O / Business
Review F&O turnover, taxable profit/loss and relevant expenses where the broker report contains derivatives data.
BUSINESS / F&OMonth-wise Data
Review realised activity month by month so that the period-wise working can be checked before entering the return.
MONTH-WISEUnderstand the ITR-3 Filing Data
The analyzer is a working/review tool. Use the displayed figures to prepare the appropriate ITR-3 schedules after checking the broker source report.
01 Capital Gains
For realised equity transactions, review the capital-gain working before filing.
- ST Short-term capital gain / loss
- LT Long-term capital gain / loss
- ₹ Full Value of Consideration
- ₹ Cost of Acquisition
- ✓ Transaction count and transaction details
02 Business Income
Where the report contains intraday or derivatives activity, review the business working separately.
- F F&O profit/loss
- I Intraday / speculative activity
- ₹ Turnover / sale value as reported or derived
- ₹ Purchase/cost values where available
- ! Apply the appropriate tax treatment before filing
Always Check the Reconciliation
Reconciliation is the most important review step. If the source and parsed data do not match, do not rely on an unverified figure.
The analyzer should compare broker totals with the data extracted from the transaction/report sections. A successful reconciliation means the displayed working is consistent with the source values within the permitted rounding tolerance.
Do Not File an Unverified Figure
The analyzer prepares an ITR-3 working summary from broker data. It does not replace the taxpayer's final return review. If the reconciliation shows FAIL, a data-format error, missing section or unsupported broker layout, stop and get the report corrected before using the figure for filing.
How to Read Charges / Expenses
Broker reports can contain brokerage, STT, exchange charges, GST, stamp duty, DP charges and other expenses. These should be reviewed according to their nature and the applicable ITR treatment.
₹ Broker Charges
Use the charges section to understand what the broker actually reported.
- 1 Brokerage
- 2 Exchange / transaction charges
- 3 STT
- 4 GST / taxes
- 5 Stamp duty / DP / other charges where reported
! ITR-3 Treatment
Do not automatically deduct the broker's entire annual aggregate charge from capital gains. Review the specific nature of the expense and the applicable tax treatment before filing.
- ✓ Review transfer-related expenses
- × Do not blindly claim all aggregate charges
- ! STT treatment requires separate consideration
- ✓ Keep broker report as supporting working
Transaction Details
Use the transaction table to trace individual realised trades back to the broker report.
📋 What to Review
The detailed table can be used for transaction-level checking.
- 1 Stock / security name
- 2 ISIN where available
- 3 Quantity
- 4 Buy date / buy value
- 5 Sell date / sell value
- 6 STCG / LTCG / business category
- 7 Profit or loss
⬇️ Download CSV
Where the broker tab provides a Download CSV option, use it to save a transaction-level working copy for your records or further review.
- ✓ Useful for detailed checking
- ✓ Can be retained with the broker report
- ✓ Helps identify individual transactions
- ! CSV is a working/export file, not the ITR filing itself
Common Upload Problems
These checks help when the result does not appear or the analyzer shows a format/reconciliation error.
Wrong Broker Selected
Select the same broker that generated the Excel file. Do not use a Groww parser for a Dhan report, or another broker's format.
Broker Format Changed
If the broker changes its workbook structure, the analyzer may stop extraction rather than show an unsafe figure. Contact Rajkumari Digital for the format update.
Incomplete Report
Download the complete P&L/consolidated report again and upload the original file without editing or deleting sheets.
Validation Failed
Do not use the displayed numbers as verified filing figures. Re-download the source report and contact support if the problem continues.
Wrong Period
Confirm that the uploaded report covers the period required for the ITR you are preparing.
Need Format Update?
Send the original broker file to Rajkumari Digital so the broker-specific parser can be updated for the new format.
